Polish media release details of last year's talks in Brest

During the second round of Ukrainian-Russian negotiations, which took place on March 3, 2022 in the Brest region of Belarus, Russia demanded that Ukraine capitulate.

This is now, a year later, reported by the Polish edition Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP), citing its sources in the Polish government.

Flights to Brest were associated with a very high risk. A DGP source claims that the Russians suggested to Reznikov about the time of the negotiations that Ukraine announce its surrender. The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had to answer, as in the famous dialogue from Snake Island. Sent them to x**, says our interlocutor, writes Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.

The publication also reports that the Ukrainian delegation headed by Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov flew to Belarus from the Polish city of Biala Podlaska on an S-70i Black Hawk helicopter belonging to the aviation group of the GROM military unit. According to DGP sources in the Polish government, a unit of military paratroopers from Lublinets was already engaged in guarding Ukrainians on their way to Belarus. The flights of Ukrainian officials to Brest from the Polish side were supervised by the then head of the Prime Minister's Office Michal Dvorczyk and Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Pzhydach.

As reported, negotiations after the end of the war between Ukraine and Russia were conducted at the level of delegations. In February-March 2022, four face-to-face rounds took place. In addition, the delegations met in video format.
