US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo admitted Russia's involvement in the situation with Alexei Navalny. He stated this in an interview with American journalist Ben Shapiro, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Pompeo, Russian high-ranking officials may be involved in the situation with the oppositionist. At the same time, the American politician did not name specific names. “I think this is bad for the Russians. This is bad for Russia, ”he said.

According to the Secretary of State, people around the world adhere to this point of view. He stressed that the United States and European countries expect Russia to punish those responsible. “We will do everything in our power,” concluded Pompeo.

Alexei Navalny became ill on the morning of August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow, the plane urgently landed in Omsk. On August 22, the oppositionist was taken to a Berlin clinic.

The German authorities announced the poisoning of a Russian citizen with the poison of the Novichok group. Russian doctors claim that the tests did not show the presence of any poisons in Navalny's body.
