Pope Francis met with a delegation of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations. This is the first visit of a Ukrainian interfaith association to the Vatican.
The head of the OCU, Epiphanius, said that at the meeting the Pope was asked to extend the prayer for Ukraine and the struggle for truth. The Pope assured that he was praying for Ukraine.
Thank you for this unity of yours, it means a lot to me. It is like children in a family where one is there, the other is somewhere, but when the mother is sick, everyone gathers together,” Francis said.

He noted that in this case we are not talking about Jewish, Islamic, Christian, Orthodox or Catholic Ukraine, but about the “mother of Ukraine”, for the sake of which all rally together.
Don't hesitate, I'm praying for you! I carry you in my heart and beg God to have mercy on this so brave people! – stressed Francis.
The head of the UGCC, Svyatoslav Shevchuk, in turn, said that during the meeting he handed over the lists of captured doctors to the Pope. He also thanked the Pope for the letter to the Ukrainian people, his spiritual affinity with our martyr nation, humanitarian solidarity and international support for Ukraine.
