Putin became a legitimate military target for Ukraine yesterday - political strategist

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin recently visited temporarily occupied Crimea and Mariupol. Now it has become a legitimate military target of Ukraine.

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman told Channel 24 about this. According to him, it can be assumed that, in fact, a double came to the temporarily occupied territories. Putin's face was indeed a little different. However, the point here is quite different.

Putin became a legitimate military target for Ukraine

As Sheitelman noted, there is no point in arguing whether it was the real Putin or not. There is a fact – the Russian dictator came to the occupied territories of Ukraine. He is now a legitimate military target.

The main point here is political. Even criminal. By that point, Putin, as a politician, was not a legitimate military target. And now it has. After all, he personally took part in the occupation of Ukraine. Not as a politician, but as an occupier,” Sheitelman noted.

In his opinion, Putin came to the occupied territories of Ukraine in response to the fact that the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for the arrest of the Russian dictator. Formally, the West demonstrates that Putin is a criminal. He no longer has diplomatic protection.

Putin came to Crimea and then to Mariupol

  • March 18 marked the 9th anniversary of the so-called “referendum” in Crimea. The Russian dictator also decided to come there.
  • Already on March 19, the Kremlin media began to report that Putin had flown to Mariupol by helicopter. He allegedly traveled around several districts of the city, which was destroyed by his troops.
  • Earlier, Russian dictator Putin explained why he did not start a full-scale war against Ukraine in 2014.
