Russia and Italy have developed good and stable relations, which have a non-partisan character and do not depend on the political forces at the pinnacle of power. At the annual big press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin named a country capable of normalizing Russia's relations with the EU and NATO, TASS broadcasts on YouTube.

“Regardless of the forces that lead Italy, we are continuing what was laid by Berlusconi. And this supra-partisan consensus, nationwide, is key in relations between Russia and Italy. Italy is a NATO country and a member of the EU, but this does not prevent us from working, ”the Russian leader said.

Earlier, Putin said that NATO “cheated” Moscow. According to the president, there have been five waves of expansion of the alliance since the 1990s. “And now, please, in Romania, now, in Poland, there are corresponding systems,” the Russian leader noted. Putin wondered how Americans would react if Russian missiles appeared near their borders with Canada and Mexico.
