Franck Ribery with ex-colleagues David Alaba and Toni Kroos.
David Alaba and Toni Kroos make fun of ex-colleague Franck Ribery in a podcast. He wants to counter, but shoots an own goal.
David Alaba and Franck Ribery were once the “vile brothers” of Säbener Strasse. The Viennese left FC Bayern in the summer, joined Real Madrid and thus followed former Munich Toni Kroos to the “Royal”.
Now he was a guest on his podcast “Einfach mal Luppen”.
The two caused a stir with statements about Ribery. Kroos: “Franck has a little damage, we don't need to fool ourselves.” Alaba replied: “A little one ?!”
Ribery wanted revenge for the joke at his own expense. He shared two photos on social media showing him preparing for a free kick. Each in the background: Alaba and Kroos. Ribery wrote: “Small damage but always in front of the two of you as a free-kick taker.”
The counterattack backfired. The reactions on the net were not long in coming. Ribery is raised for his photo selection.
Some point out Ribery to his stooped posture in front of ex-colleague Kroos. One user writes: “Looks a bit awkward at first sight, brother.”
However, the 38-year-old takes it with humor, later commenting on his own post with a laughing smiley face.
