On Monday, July 26, Roskomnadzor partially blocked the popular American site Genius, where users parse the lyrics, including those in Russian. The press service of the department explained that the Russian side has repeatedly demanded that the hosting provider and the administrator of this Internet resource remove information prohibited in our country, but they did not.

“On the basis of court decisions that have entered into legal force, as well as numerous requirements of Rospotrebnadzor and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, 30 pages of the site genius.com have been included in the Unified Register of Prohibited Information,” the TASS press service is quoted as saying.

It is clarified that the site was required to remove “materials containing propaganda of extremism, a criminal lifestyle”, as well as “pro-narcotic and suicidal content.”

At the same time, the department assured that if the prohibited information is removed from the site, “Roskomnadzor is ready to remove access restrictions in a short time.”

Recall, as the website kp.ru wrote, since the beginning of 2021, Roskomnadzor specialists have blocked or deleted about 150 Internet pages with information, including those related to the sale of fake coronavirus vaccination certificates.
