Russia is ready to fight against the coronavirus pandemic together with the United States and is open to cooperation. This was stated by the Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
In particular, Russia expressed its readiness, together with the American side, to develop drugs against the disease. However, the topic of vaccines turned out to be politicized in the United States, the diplomat noted. According to him, Washington perceives Russian achievements “with open skepticism.” At the same time, the scientific community highly appreciated the drugs from Russia.
Earlier Antonov said that Russia hopes for a new chapter in relations with the United States in connection with the arrival of Joe Biden as the American president. According to him, the Russian side has a specific program for developing relations with the United States.
There are currently several coronavirus vaccines in the world. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. At the same time, Pfizer / BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine and another developed by Moderna have been registered in the United States.
