Russia plans to increase the army by several thousand more fighters: details from the media

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation sent out an order to the regions on the number of people with whom contracts should be signed.

Russia will start a new recruitment of contract soldiers in the army from April 1 and plans to recruit 400 thousand people into the army.

So, for a new recruitment of contract soldiers, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation sent out an order to the regions, which indicates the number of people with whom documents should be signed.

The publication notes that several regional media published the total number of contract soldiers who need to replenish the troops, according to the plan of the Russian Defense Ministry. So, we are talking about 400 thousand contract service fighters .

The main part of the work of recruiting for military service will be entrusted to employees of the military registration and enlistment offices. But in the end, the governors will be responsible for carrying out the plan.

It is known that according to the plans of the Russian Ministry of Defense, 10,000 people should enter the service in the Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions, and 9,000 people in the Perm Territory.

According to the edition “Layout”, the Russian military registration and enlistment offices are trying to compensate for the loss of the army in scarce military specialties . Now they are drivers of armored vehicles and gunners. At the same time, the Russian authorities at the official level reject the second wave of mobilization in the country.

Recall, earlier it became known that in the Voronezh and Lipetsk regions of Russia, the military registration and enlistment offices began to send out subpoenas to allegedly “clarify personal data.” In the regions they assure that there is no talk of mobilization.

Note that a draft law on raising the draft age has been submitted to the State Duma of Russia. So, gradually until 2024, they plan to raise the upper bar to 30 years. Today, in the Russian Federation, men aged 18 to 27 are called up for military service.

According to the American analysts of the Institute for the Study of War, the increase in the maximum draft age in the Russian Federation is likely “aimed at expanding the age range of conscription in order to satisfy a certain part of the immediate needs of the Russian military in manpower in Ukraine, and subsequently reduce the general requirements of Russian society for conscription in subsequent years”.
