Russia will not deviate from the approaches on security guarantees in Europe, announced before the talks with the United States in Geneva. This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov, RIA Novosti reports.
The diplomat urged Washington to prepare for compromises on security issues. “The Russian side came here with a clear position, which contains a number of elements, in my opinion, quite understandable and formulated,” he stressed. According to Ryabkov, Moscow will not deviate from this position.
Earlier, the NATO nest Jens Stoltenberg stated that it was impossible to resolve all existing problems during negotiations with Russia in Geneva on security guarantees. At the same time, he expressed confidence that the parties can conduct an effective dialogue, but did not rule out confrontation.
