Russian combat drone will increase striking power

Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that the Russian heavy drone “Altius” after modernization will be characterized by increased combat power.

The final version of the drone will be called “Altius-RU”. He will be able to strike and be controlled from the satellite. Borisov also recalled that the first prototype of the Altius took off in 2016. After testing, the drone was decided to be modified. Now the drone is “seriously modernized.” Specialists will change the dimensions of the vehicle, reduce its take-off weight, but increase the weight of the payload.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes that Altius is equipped with two turboprop engines. The drone is capable of staying in the air for up to 48 hours, and its flight range reaches 10 thousand kilometers. The vehicle has four suspension points at which it can carry up to a ton of weapons.

In the summer, tests of a drone with all weapons will take place.
