Russian fighter intercepted American spy plane
A Russian MiG-31 fighter jet intercepted an American RC-135 spy plane over the Bering Sea. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that the Russian means of control detected an air target over the neutral waters of the Bering Sea. The MiG-31 recognized it as a US Air Force RC-135 strategic reconnaissance aircraft, escorting it over the sea. There was no violation of the state border, the Russian fighter returned to the home airfield.
On the eve, Russian fighters intercepted two US Air Force B-1B strategic bombers over the Bering Sea. The MiG-31 and Su-35 fighters identified the US Air Force B-1B bombers and escorted them. Then the Russian planes returned to the airfield; border violations were also not allowed.
