The Russian Helicopters holding (part of Rostec) plans to create drones with a carrying capacity of 200 kg and 1 ton, said Oleg Landin, director of marketing and business development for the holding. He pointed out that the carrying capacity of the existing vehicles is 50 kg for the BAS-200 drones and 70-80 kg for the VRT-300.
“Our next scale will be 200 kilograms of payload, and the next step is a ton,” he said (quoted by TASS).
Earlier, Russian Helicopters presented an unmanned helicopter BAS-200 at the International Moscow Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-2021) in Zhukovsky. This device can fly for four hours, it has a movable control center located on a passenger car trailer. The drone can be used for terrain monitoring and cargo delivery.
