A powerful earthquake rocked a Russian resort

In Russia every day there are new misfortunes: now the aggressor country suffers not only from fires, but also from earthquakes. One of these was recorded near Pyatigorsk.

Details were reported on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

It is known that an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 was recorded on April 1 at 17:03. It happened 99 kilometers northeast of the famous Russian resort town of Pyatigorsk. The epicenter of the tremors is located at a depth of 15 kilometers.

The fact that the tremors were felt in Pyatigorsk and Zheleznovodsk was written in their telegram channels by the heads of these cities, Dmitry Voroshilov and Evgeny Bakulin. It is interesting that in Zheleznovodsk the tremors were somewhat more powerful, their magnitude was 4.6.

Reference. The city of Pyatigorsk is located at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains (Northern Caucasus), on the banks of the Podkumok River. The height above sea level is about 600 meters.

The day before, February 16, earthquakes on duty were recorded on Lake Baikal near the village of Bolshoe Goloustnoye. The magnitude was almost the same – 5.9. Before that, on February 15, tremors were felt on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
