< strong _ngcontent-sc88="">The Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to withdraw from Lysichansk. Thanks to this, the Ukrainian military not only saved their lives, but also broke the plans of the occupiers.

The occupiers boasted of plans to encircle the Ukrainian troops near Lisichansk. Evgeny Karas, a public figure and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this on Channel 24.

How the Armed Forces of Ukraine interfered with the plans of the Russians

However, according to the military, by leaving the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they thwarted the classic Russian operation to build a boiler.

Let's rely on the assessments of the Russians themselves. They are wildly surprised that in Lisichansk not a single boiler turned out, it was not possible to encircle our troops,” Karas emphasized.

He added that therefore the invaders failed to achieve satisfaction for the losses they suffered during the assault on Severodonetsk”.

What was the logic of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to Karas, the Ukrainian army could continue to hold Lysichansk. However, the troops withdrew on the orders of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Our task was to gain time. Severodonetsk and Lysichansk, in essence, were bait for the Russians. They (invaders – Channel 24) burned everything there. But we still held out, and thanks to a small number of troops,” the military said.

He added that the withdrawal of troops from Lysichansk coincided with the fact that The Armed Forces of Ukraine began to actively use HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and destroy enemy ammunition depots and command posts. Therefore, the General Staff did not see the expediency of further maintaining the city and pulling enemy artillery onto it. After all, thanks to the destroyed trains, the number of artillery the enemy will continue to decrease.

“Why hold on to the ruins of Lisichansk, if from there it is better to retreat to more convenient positions on the Severskaya line, and then to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk? We can already hold out there until we launch a counteroffensive,” Karas said.

What did the Ukrainian military achieve

According to the serviceman, thanks to the withdrawal from the Lysychansk Armed Forces, several goals were achieved at once:

  • take more convenient positions;
  • save human of life – the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only did not fall into the boiler, but in the future they will be able to reduce the number of losses in infantry and tank attacks;
  • the reserves that would have to be attracted to maintain Lisichansk were transferred to other sectors of the front. Thanks to this, Karas noted, the Ukrainian military is launching a counteroffensive in the direction of Volnovakha and succeeding in the Kherson direction.

How the situation at the front has changed

The military explained that by leaving Lisichansk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine changed the overall picture on the front.

This is almost the only front. Now it’s easier than our artillery, it’s easier for the Ukrainian military to defend themselves,” he said.

Under such conditions, it is much more difficult for the enemy to maintain control over the situation.

“The Russians are afraid that now the Armed Forces of Ukraine will launch a counterattack in the Donetsk direction in order to pull the infidels' troops from the Luhansk region,” Karas said.

He added that the situation is developing in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

We are losing territories somewhere, and somewhere we go on the offensive and begin to liberate our lands. We have a simple task: we need to destroy Russia and Russian troops. We carry out this task effectively,” the military emphasized.
