Explosions thundered in the temporarily occupied Melitopol and Berdyansk on June 12. Probably arranged by the Russian authorities.

This opinion was expressed at the Institute for the Study of War. Note that the explosions took place on the so-called “Russia Day”.

The explosions could have been Russian provocations

Russian authorities may have staged false flag attacks in Melitopol and Berdyansk on June 12, allegedly to blame Ukrainian partisans for attacks on civilians, the report said.

The department noted that the Russian Gauleiter of the Zaporozhye region, Vladimir Rogov, said that “terrorists” staged 3 explosions in Berdyansk. Subsequently, the collaborator refused these words and said that there had allegedly been an accident at an electrical substation. Traditionally, he added a lie in the style of Russian propaganda that the locals, when they hear explosions, immediately think that it is the Ukrainian Armed Forces that are bombing them.

Another Gauleiter, illegally appointed deputy head of the occupying “Ministry of Internal Affairs” of the region, Aleksey Selivanov, said that unknown people planted an explosive device in Melitopol. Their goal was to disrupt the “Day of Russia”.

The legitimate head of the Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Starukh noted that the Ukrainian authorities had warned that the occupiers could stage terrorist attacks on the “Day of Russia”.

What the military warned about

On June 12, the invaders were preparing “celebrations” in the occupied Ukrainian territories. They wanted to create a picture for Russian propaganda about how Ukrainians rejoice in the “day of Russia”. At the same time, only pictures were not enough for the enemy, so the invader's army planned to shell the clusters of civilians. The Russians wanted to commit such cynical and cruel actions only in order to blame the Ukrainian military for them.

The threat of such provocations was reported by the Operational Command “South”, as well as the mayor of Energodar Dmitry Orlov. They urged people not to attend mass events that day.

In Melitopol, there could be “showdowns” of the invaders

According to local media, the explosion on June 12 in captured Melitopol could be the result of a showdown between two groups Russian occupiers. It was allegedly organized by the FSB of Russia in order to harm the “head” of the department in the Zaporozhye region, Major Alexei Selivanov. After all, he was responsible for order in the city on the day of Russia.

Note that 4 people were injured as a result of this explosion. Among them is a civilian girl who received a head injury.
