The Russian military attacked Ukraine at night using kamikaze drones. The occupiers used tricks to overcome our air defense.

Yury Ignat, speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this on the air of the telethon. He noted the excellent work of the air defense forces, which destroyed 16 martyrs at once.

The Russians use the terrain to overcome the air defense of Ukraine

Ignat said that the enemy was preparing for an attack, but, according to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine know how the enemy attacks. The Air Force spokesman noted that the Russians are trying to use the terrain to overcome Ukrainian air defenses.

We know how he does it using paths, routes and methods. Uses the channel of the Dnieper. This isn't the first time he's used terrain to overcome an air defense system. So that as many means as possible, the defeat flew to its goals. But we see that the goals go astray,” he said.

At the same time, Ignat stressed that it is quite difficult to shoot down air targets in the current conditions. In particular, he said that Ukraine does not have enough air defense systems.

At the same time, the representative added that everything possible is being done to intercept hostile targets in different areas and effectively destroy them.

Russia attacked Ukraine with shahids: what is known at the moment

• On the night of December 29-30, Russia attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made kamikaze drones. In total, 16 shahids were released, which attacked Ukraine from the southeast and north directions.
• All kamikaze drones were destroyed by the forces and means of the Vostok and Center air commands, as well as air defense units of other components Defense Forces of Ukraine.
• 10 drones are known to have been destroyed over Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporozhye. The capital's mayor Vitali Klitschko informed that 7 kamikaze drones wanted to attack Kyiv. Two of them were shot down on approach to the capital, five more – over Kyiv.
