The head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai spoke about this on Channel 24. He recalled that the Armed Forces of Ukraine still hold a small part of the Lugansk region.

In particular, we are talking about the villages of Belogorivka and Verkhnekamenka.

Fighting continues on the territory of these settlements. This indicates that the Russians have a certain exhaustion. After all, for several weeks the occupiers have not been able to pass the defense line there,” Gaidai said.

“The Russians are reducing their plans”

According to heads of the Lugansk OVA, the Russian invaders are boasting that they are about to win big victories in the Donbass.

All the statements of the Russians that they will go to the borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions… I can assure you, nothing like that will happen. They are even reducing their plans,” he noted.

Gaidai added that if until recently the Russians tried to storm Slavyansk and Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, now the intensity of their offensive operations has significantly decreased. According to him, after a crushing defeat, the Russians abandoned their offensive against Slovyansk. Now the invaders are trying to storm Bakhmut, but to no avail.

The Russians continue intensive shelling of settlements in the Donetsk region. In particular, during the day on August 7, Russian invaders fired dozens of shells at Bakhmut. As a result, a high-rise building caught fire, private houses and urban infrastructure were destroyed.

On August 7, the Russian military launched a massive attack on the Donetsk region. The occupiers fired rockets, aircraft, artillery, “Hurricanes” and “Grads” into the Donetsk region. 16 settlements of the Donetsk region were under fire from Russian invaders.
