Sakura blossoms in Tokyo
The cherry blossom season has begun in Tokyo, TASS reports.
An official from Japan's National Meteorological Office announced the cherry blossom bloom after inspecting a control tree that grows at the Yasukuni Shrine.
It is noted that the current flowering season began on the same day as a year earlier. The Tokyo cherry blossoms are predicted to peak on March 22nd.
Recall that last year the board of the imperial palace in Japan announced the closure of the eastern park, famous for the Japanese cherry trees. It was noted that every year many people come here to see the cherry blossoms. Every day at this time tens of thousands of people gather in the park.
