As it became known, the Russian agent tried to get a job in the Department of Defense Work of the regional military administration. After that, he wanted to collect secret information about the region's defense system during the war.

Later, the attacker wanted to transfer the information received to the Russian enemy. However, the SBU exposed and detained the agent near the administrative building of the local police station.

The traitor turned out to be a resident of the regional center, whom the FSB recruited before the start of a full-scale invasion. The man agreed to cooperate with the enemy because of his pro-Kremlin beliefs and monetary reward.

After February 24, 2022, on the instructions of the Russian special service, he reconnoitered the places of deployment and movement of the Defense Forces on the territory region. To do this, he traveled around the territory and secretly observed the units of the Ukrainian troops. In addition, he collected personal data of local law enforcement officers and their families, the department said.

By the way, the invaders paid for the “services” of the agent with cryptocurrency. As a result, the SBU reported the suspicion to the man under the article on high treason committed under martial law.

“The court chose a preventive measure for the attacker in the form of detention. The investigation is ongoing,” the law enforcement officers added.< /p>
