Scientists have proven that dogs from birth know how to interact with people

Researchers at the University of Arizona concluded that some dogs are born ready to interact with humans, according to Current Biology.

“There was already evidence that adult dogs have social skills, but here we found evidence that puppies, almost like humans, are biologically prepared for these social interactions,” explained Dr. Emily Bray.

To study the biological foundations of dog-human communication, Dr. Bray selected 375 puppies and gave them four assignments.

With the first task, the researchers wanted to determine if the puppies understood human gestures. Two other tests measured the tendency of dogs to look a person in the eye. The fourth task tested whether the puppies have a tendency to turn to humans for help.

As a result, it was possible to establish that many puppies were ready to interact with a person and followed his movements and voice. It is noteworthy that some of them were closely related.

Earlier, American scientists found that dozens of animal species can laugh like humans. This includes primates, parrots, mongooses, foxes, seals, dogs and cows.
