“Sent to ** d”: the media told how Reznikov reacted to the offer of surrender from Russia

In the first days of a full-scale invasion, the delegations of Ukraine and Russia held negotiations. When the enemy side offered Ukraine to capitulate, the Minister of Defense sent delegates after the Russian ship.

Journalists of the Polish media claim that the conversation with the proposal of the Russians regarding the “surrender” took place in Brest in February-March 2022. Then the delegation of Ukraine was headed by the Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov.

Conversation details

According to the publication, the Ukrainian delegation flew to Brest from Poland on an S-70i Black Hawk helicopter. The Polish special forces were responsible for the safety of the Ukrainians – the operators of the military unit “Commandos”, stationed in Lublinka.

One of the participants in the events said that the flight to Belarus for negotiations was risky and the Ukrainian delegation was not even sure that it would be able to return from there.

During the conversation, the Russian side suggested that Ukraine announce its surrender. In turn, Reznikov responded, referring to a quote from the Ukrainian defender of the Serpent Island, “Russian warship – go to ** d.”

Recall that the negotiations after the end of the war between Ukraine and Russia were conducted at the level of delegations. In February-March 2022, four face-to-face rounds took place. In addition, the delegations met in video format.

Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia: what Danilov says

  • Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov claims that the fact that Ukrainians have been defending their state for more than a year is an answer to all those people who did not believe in our country, our armed forces and the highest military-political leadership. Yes, the plans were very different. However, this is our land, Danilov emphasizes, which we will not give to anyone.
  • “There can be no compromises with terrorists. Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk regions – these territories will be returned to our country. It cannot be otherwise,” said NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov.
  • According to Danilov, the Ukrainian military is actively working on a future counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, it is not worth talking about the timing. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council emphasizes: a counteroffensive is being prepared, and everything will be decided by the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander. They listen to the proposals of the Ukrainian military.
