Acceptance of applications for participation in the annual prize for inventors “Novator of Moscow” has been completed, a total of 740 applications have been submitted, said the deputy mayor of the capital, Natalya Sergunina.

She stressed that the award was established to stimulate the creation and implementation of the most advanced technologies. For the second year in a row, hundreds of promising solutions have been announced. So, in 2020, 483 applications for participation in the competition were received, and this year their number has grown by 1.5 times.

As noted by Sergunina, now each project must be evaluated by experts. Only 36 entries will qualify for the final.

Most of the applications came from developers and entrepreneurs in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence (209), medicine and pharmaceuticals (152).

In total, the competition provides for three nominations, depending on the stage of project development. Thus, the category “Project of the Future” is suitable for an invention at the stage of a formalized innovative idea. The Reality Changing category is intended for market-ready developments. The Innovation Leaders category is suitable for projects that have already generated the first revenue. In each of the nominations, six areas are distinguished: “Artificial Intelligence and Information Technologies”, “Medicine and Pharmaceuticals”, “Transport and Logistics”, “Ecology and Environmental Protection”, “Improvement and Construction” and “Public Projects”.

Note also that this year the prize fund of the award has grown from 17.25 million rubles to 20.7 million rubles, and the number of winners has increased from 15 to 18. Winners will receive 500 thousand rubles, 1 million rubles or 1.5 million rubles, depending on from the nomination. Authors of 18 finalist projects that took second place will be awarded with incentive prizes.
