Sobyanin spoke about the development of Moscow as a leading innovation cluster
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his blog on his personal website presented the most interesting projects of the capital's innovative companies.
The head of the capital noted that last year Moscow took 32nd place in the Global Innovation Index ranking of the 100 leading innovation clusters in the world. In the recently published StartupBlink startup ecosystems rating for 2021, Moscow ranks 9th in the world and second among European cities.
To encourage innovators, the Novator of Moscow awards were established. The winners of the 2021 award have already been announced. Compared to the past year, the number of applications has grown by one and a half times. 740 applications were nominated for the award in six areas. 36 innovative developments reached the final, and the authors of 18 projects became the winners.
Earlier it was reported that Sobyanin presented the Moscow government awards for 2020 to young scientists. Among the recipients of the award are researchers whose works are devoted to the study of COVID-19 and antiviral vaccines. Moscow Government Prizes for young scientists are awarded annually for the achievement of outstanding results in fundamental and applied scientific research. Since 2019, the amount of the award at the initiative of Sergei Sobyanin has increased to 2 million rubles.
