Zelensky recalled that the USSR lasted 70 years/Channel 24 collage

The Soviet Union did to many people what Russia is doing now. But the USSR lasted 70 years. It is very symbolic that the head of the Kremlin is almost the same age now.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky recalled this during an online meeting with African journalists.

“The Soviet Union lasted 70 years. There is something symbolic in this,” Zelensky stressed.

The President of Ukraine also called on the Russian President to stop and think about what will remain after him, except for suffering and destruction.

It must be assumed that he (Putin – their land, except hell. What will happen to the Russian nation, what will happen to its people. But no one will forgive what has already been done,” Zelensky stressed.

Russian occupiers do not stop shelling peaceful Ukrainian cities and killing civilians. They do not stop proving to the whole world ordinary terrorists. Ukraine calls on the world to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism for its crimes against the Ukrainian people.

Earlier, Zelensky stressed that a legal response to the terrorist actions of Russians at the global level is urgently needed. And now there is absolutely no reason that could slow down this reaction.

Recognition of Russia as a terrorist state: why is it important

• The Verkhovna Rada has officially recognized Russia as a terrorist state. This means that all Russian neo-Nazi symbols in Ukraine are banned.
• The corresponding resolution has already been adopted in the US Senate, now it is awaiting consideration by the State Department.
• Lithuanian parliamentarians also unanimously adopted a resolution , which recognized Russia as “a power supporting and carrying out terrorism.” In addition, the Seimas of Lithuania recognized Russia's war against Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian nation.
• Estonia and Canada also recognized the actions of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
