Online negotiations between Ukraine and Russia have started/Office of the President

The Ukrainian delegation began negotiations with the . This time they are taking place online.

Information about the start of negotiations was confirmed to Channel 24 by the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak.

How the preliminary negotiations went

Previous a round of talks took place in Istanbul on 29 March. Ukraine submitted proposals to Russia on a security guarantee treaty.

It states that Ukraine will not join defense alliances, but requires guarantees similar to Article 5 of NATO. Among the possible guarantor states are the countries of the UN Security Council, China, Turkey, the USA, France, Germany, Israel, Canada, Italy.

The Ukrainian delegation proposes to negotiate with Russia on the status of Crimea for 15 years. At the same time, the military path is not allowed.
