Moscow. September 27. INTERFAX.RU – An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 was recorded in the central part of Crete, said the Altai-Sayan branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to operational data, the epicenter of the shock recorded at 9:17 am Moscow time was 21 km southeast of the city of Heraklion. According to the intensity of shaking at the epicenter, the seismic event is assessed as “destructive”.
