The airspace of four European countries was violated by an unknown aircraft
The pilot of a private jet did not respond to radio requests and flew from Hungary to Bulgaria.
A small two-seat Beechcraft aircraft flew into the airspace of Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria on the evening of June 8. The aircraft was successively intercepted by the Hungarian and Romanian Air Forces, as well as American F-16 aircraft from the Romanian NATO airbase.
This is reported by digi24.
The Beechcraft twin-engine aircraft, whose identity could not be recognized, crossed the airspace of four European countries at low altitude. The plane took off in Hungary near Debrecen at approximately 17:30 without an approved flight plan and without a transponder turned on.
In the airspace of the country, he was escorted by two aircraft of the Hungarian Air Force (Air Force), in Romania – aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, as well as American F-16 aircraft from the Romanian air base of NATO.
At about 19:00, the aircraft during two minutes crossed the airspace of Serbia, and then flew into Bulgaria.
According to the publication, there were two people on board the aircraft. At the same time, the pilot did not respond to radio requests and to visual signals that were transmitted by military aircraft accompanying him. At the same time, the aircraft showed no hostile or dangerous behavior.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense added that the Bulgarian authorities are currently examining the last known position of the aircraft in order to identify it and find out details.
Recall that on Wednesday, June 8, a military aircraft MV-22B Osprey, which was part of the 3rd Air Wing of the US Marine Corps, crashed in southern California. Immediately after the crash, information appeared in the media that there were ammunition with nuclear materials on board this tiltrotor (an aircraft that combines the functions of an airplane and a helicopter).
