The Cabinet of Ministers appointed new leaders in Ukrgasdobycha and Ukrtransgaz

Ukrgasdobycha and Ukrtransgaz got new leaders. They were appointed on January 6 by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The changes were also announced in the press service of Naftogaz.

So, according to the decision of the government:

  • Oleg Tolmachev, who previously headed the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production division, replaced Oleksandr Romanyuk as acting head of Ukrgasdobycha;
  • Roman Malyutin became acting head of Ukrtransgaz instead of Serhiy Pereloma.

What is known about the new leaders

Tolmachev has over 20 years of experience in hydrocarbon production in North America, where he has worked for companies such as:

  • BP America,
  • Chesapeake Energy,
  • EnCana Oil & Gas USA,
  • eclipse Resources,
  • Mounting resources.

He led high-tech projects for the development of large fields in North America with deposits of gas and gas condensate.

Naftogaz points out that Malyutin went all the way from the operator and engineer at the Kegichevskoye UGS facility to the deputy chief engineer of the eastern region of the gas transmission system operator of Ukraine. He has over 20 years of experience in gas transportation and storage companies.

They are well versed in world experience, but at the same time they have worked hard in Ukraine and understand the challenges that we now face. – said Alexei Chernyshev, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz.

We add that Chernyshev himself was appointed head of the board of Naftogaz in November 2022. Prior to that, he served as Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
