The Cabinet of Ministers has launched the launch of the Ukrainian National Center for Peace Development. He will collect evidence of violations of the rights and freedoms of Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbass.

The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on December 2. As Prime Minister Denis Shmygal explained, the Cabinet of Ministers determined the procedure for using funds to create registers and monitoring systems for the new center.

This gave a start to its work.

– This will allow the institution start activities and collect evidence of violation of the rights of Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories, – Shmygal emphasized.

During the meeting, the head of the Cabinet also noted that the actions of the occupiers would be recorded and documented, and in the future they would serve the evidence base for Russian aggression.

Recently, the launch of the center was announced by the Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk. The minister announced that it will be created by the end of 2021.

Vereshchuk explained that the Ukrainian National Center for Peace Development will not only collect evidence of violations of the rights of Ukrainians by the occupiers, but will also form registers of such violations.

In addition, the center will be engaged in drafting claims against the Russian Federation in international courts.

According to Vereshchuk, now different ministries are engaged in this activity (each in its own direction).

– We, as a specialized department, must collect all the information so that later, when lawyers and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will file claims against Russia and will form a consolidated position of the state, they had systematized information and facts, & # 8212; explained the minister.

In August, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Strategy for the Economic Development of Donbass for the period up to 2030. This is a large document that sets out how the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions controlled by Ukraine will develop in the coming years.

And at the end of September, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Strategy for the de-occupation of Crimea.
