On Thursday, March 9, a fatal accident occurred in the Rivne region. The car drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck.

The tragedy occurred at about 19:45 on the highway “Kyiv-Kovel-Yagodin” near the village of Rakytne. The accident killed two pensioners.

Details of fatal accident

At the scene of the incident, the investigator of the investigative department established that the driver of the VAZ-2101 car, a 72-year-old resident of Berdichev, moving in the direction of the city of Sarny, drove into the oncoming traffic lane.

After that, the passenger car driver collided with a DAF truck with a semi-trailer driven by a 36-year-old resident of the city of Korosten, Zhytomyr region.

As a result of an accident, the VAZ driver and his 73-year-old wife received injuries incompatible with life. The truck driver was not injured in the accident and was sober, according to the results of the survey.

On this fact, the violation of traffic safety rules, which resulted in the death of two people, the investigator of the Investigation Department launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
