Chinese processor developer Loongson has officially unveiled a new generation CPU – 3A5000. They are based on the company's own microarchitecture.
The developer claims that the new PC processors deliver up to 50% faster performance with lower power consumption than their predecessors.
The Loongson 3A5000 / LS3A5000 is a quad-core processor clocked at 2.30 GHz – 2.50 GHz. It should be 50% faster and 30% more energy efficient than its predecessor LS3A4000. Given that this processor was at the level of the AMD Excavator architecture, the new LS3A5000 can be expected to perform as the first generation AMD Ryzen.
LS3A5000 supports DDR4-3200 memory type. The processor will be sold primarily to Chinese PC builders, so its price remains unknown.
