Colonel of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military expert and pilot-instructor Roman Svitan told Channel 24 about this. According to him, there were 155 and 40 Russian brigades of marines from the Far East near Ugledar.

Carbon is very hard to capture

As Svitan noted, the Russian command sets the task of capturing Ugledar by its military. But doing it directly is very difficult.

The Ukrainian commanders, who chose Vuhledar as a line of defense, did everything right. They replaced and fired at the direction of approach. It is even difficult to approach Ugledar. Almost impossible. The Russians lost so many people – two brigades were defeated, more than 100 “boxes” were burned, Svitan noted.

The strategic goal of the occupiers in this direction is to reach Kurakhovo in the rear of the Maryinskaya group, as well as to Pokrovsk – in the rear of the Avdeevskaya group; and in Dobropolye – into the Kramatorsk and Slavic grouping.

Vuhledar itself is a very promising direction for the further counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From there, it will be possible to attack the occupiers and go west of Volnovakha to Mariupol and, in general, to the Azov coast.
