The head of the headquarters of the military administration of Kyiv, Sergei Korniychuk, said that the threat in the capital from Russia has not disappeared. The Russian invaders did not abandon their offensive, the main goal of which is Kyiv.

Preparation for the defense and functioning of the capital continues

Lieutenant General Korniychuk commented that some checkpoints are being closed in Kyiv . He stressed that the Russian threat still remains, but Kyiv must function.

The public threat has not disappeared. While the war is on. The enemy did not abandon his offensive. The capital remains a priority, – said the head of the headquarters of the military administration of Kyiv.

Korniychuk noted that Kyiv is “a large political and economic center and must live and function.”

He added that in parallel measures are ongoing to prepare the defense of the city and ensure the functioning of Kyiv.

There are measures that are being taken to prepare the defense of the city, but measures are also provided for it to function, – said the lieutenant general .

According to Korniychuk, checkpoints and barriers are being optimized now.

Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that two-thirds of Kyiv residents had already returned to the capital. Klitschko warned that it is still not safe to return to Kyiv.
