Preliminary peace talks
The first talks between Ukraine and Russia took place on March 28 on the territory of Belarus, not far from the border with Ukraine. Back then, self-proclaimed President Alexander Lukashenko personally guaranteed security. Subsequently, the delegations met twice more in person, and then began to meet in video mode.
The parties failed to agree on peace, since Russia's demands are unacceptable.
