The first six planes with Russian peacekeepers from the Collective Security Treaty (CSTO) forces arrived at the Severny airfield in Ivanovo from Kazakhstan. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry, writes RIA Novosti.

After the last plane lands, solemn events will be held for the meeting of Russian paratroopers, who professionally completed all the assigned tasks. Then the personnel will start unloading the equipment for subsequent departure to the point of permanent deployment, the press service specified.

On January 14, ten aircraft of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of the Russian Federation with Belarusian CSTO peacekeepers left Kazakhstan, flying to the Minsk region. The units of the peacekeepers of Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan have begun loading equipment and personnel into the aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces at the Zhitygen and Almaty airfields.

Mass protests in Kazakhstan began on January 2 in connection with a sharp increase in gas prices for cars. The economic demands of the protesters were quickly replaced by political ones, in particular, the ex-president of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev to leave politics.
