The current Xiaomi flagship can be disassembled with a single screwdriver. This is reported by iFixit enthusiasts, an overview of the device is available on the organization's website.
Experts who disassembled the Xiaomi smartphone noticed that the back cover of the device can be removed much easier than that of the company's previous devices. The ease of disassembly was explained by the fact that the new device has not so many degrees of protection against moisture and dust penetration than the devices of competitors. Experts also noted that many components are easy to remove – for example, the battery has a special tongue, and some parts are modular and can be replaced if necessary.
Nevertheless, experts who showed the insides of the smartphone said that some parts of the device are firmly soldered to the motherboard. Also, Mi 11 has several cables and loops that twist together, which makes it difficult to disassemble the phone. Special attention was paid to gluing the flagship – the substance connecting the back cover and the rest of the case is not very viscous, which allows you to quickly open the device with a hair dryer.
In conclusion, the iFixit wizards noticed that all the bolts on which the components of the gadget are attached are of the same type and can be unscrewed with a standard Phillips screwdriver. Also, experts emphasized that the glass back cover can crack when disassembling the phone, so this process must be done very carefully. According to the results of the test, the Xioami Mi 11 received 4 out of 10 points from iFixit in terms of maintainability.
