The KGB of Belarus stated that the victim allegedly planned a terrorist attack and provided armed resistance to their special unit with the help of a machine gun and live grenades. According to them, they killed him “when carrying out special measures to stop the activities of persons who entered the territory of the Republic of Belarus with the aim of a terrorist action.” The citizen of which country was killed is not specified.

The Investigation Department of the State Security Committee of Belarus opened a criminal case. It is also reported that civilians and security forces were allegedly not injured during the special operation.
