What the Ministry of Internal Affairs says about this, said Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky on the air of a nationwide information marathon, reports < strong>Channel 24.
According to Monastyrsky, the position of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is that in order to protect housing, Ukrainians should have the right to own firearms, including pistols.
But we are against the free carrying of guns in public because we see the public safety risks outweighing the benefits such a rule could have. Now we are working with parliamentarians,” Monastyrsky said.
He noted that the relevant law is likely to be adopted in the near future.

What the bill suggests
According to the provisions of the law, short-barreled weapons can be bought and stored, and used, in addition to protecting the house, in shooting ranges and shooting ranges of lawful military formations.
The legalization of weapons is also supported by Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov. He recalled that before the war, there were millions of weapons in circulation, including undeclared ones. And with the start of the war, it became necessary to finally take “long overdue decisions.”
I think that Ukraine needs not only liberalization, but also the legalization of the circulation of weapons. Ordering. Formation of a culture of safe and responsible attitude to weapons, Reznikov noted.
Also, in his opinion, it is necessary “not to create bans, but to regulate the use of weapons due to the formation of a shooting culture.” To do this, according to the minister, it is necessary to develop the appropriate infrastructure – a network of shooting ranges, shooting ranges, shooting clubs, as well as organize competitions.
