In recent weeks, Ukrainian defenders have been able not only to break the initiative of the Russians at the front, but also to dictate their terms to the enemy.

Speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces Serhiy Cherevaty spoke on the air of the telethon about where the fiercest battles are now taking place.

He noted that Ukrainians dictate their terms on a significant section of the front.

However, the enemy is still focusing quite a strong blow on Bakhmut. Probably, the invaders want to take at least some trophy and throw it to their under-fuhrer,” said Cherevaty.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, within a day, units of the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Kazachya Lopan, Vymka, Bakhmutskoye, Bakhmut, Veselaia Dolina and Pervomayskoye. In the Bakhmut direction, the invaders opened fire on Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutsky, Odradovka, Poprosnoy, Yakovlovka, Yuryevka and Novoselovka. Bakhmut continues according to old plans

Military observer Denis Popovich noted that the offensive against Bakhmut, which the Russians are now conducting, is unfolding according to their old plans – this is a bypass and entrainment of the Slavic-Kramatorsk agglomeration, which is already pointless. According to him, Bakhmut is still a more southerly direction, having captured it, the Russians wanted to either cordon off our troops or capture them.

“But after we “cut off” the Izyum performance, the more operational there is no point in attacking Bakhmut, because the hostile chances of capturing Slavyansk and Kramatorsk have significantly decreased,” the military observer is convinced.

According to Denis Popovich, political factors are more likely to push the infidels to attack Bakhmut.
