Now the Ukrainian side has 40 days to provide Spain with proof of his guilt. This is necessary in order to extradite Shariy to Ukraine, and a trial will await him.

What Shariy is accused of

The Ukrainian special service suspects Anatoly Shariy of committing crimes under two articles of the Criminal Code Ukraine:

• article 111 (High treason)
• article 161 (Violation of the equality of citizens based on their race, nationality, religious beliefs, disability and other characteristics).

According to SBU investigators, he carried out illegal activities to the detriment of the national security of Ukraine in the information sphere. There is reason to believe that Anatoly Shariy acted on the orders of foreign structures.

“The evidence of the investigation is confirmed by a number of expert studies, which established that in the interviews and speeches of Anatoly Shariy there are facts of his subversive activities against Ukraine,” the statement reads. SBU message.

Last year, he was announced on suspicion. Also on August 20, 2021, Anatoly Shariy and his wife were sanctioned by the National Security and Defense Council.

Shariy ran a YouTube blog where he distributed Kremlin propaganda and also supported Russian aggression against Ukraine. On March 7, the YouTube channels of Shariy and his wife were blocked in Ukraine.
