The United States has evidence that Russia is preparing provocations to justify an invasion of Ukraine. A similar fact was confirmed by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby. He is quoted by TASS.
Kirby said that Russia is indeed preparing a group of military men who will carry out an operation in Ukraine under a false flag. “Without going into details, I will say that we do have information indicating that Russia is already actively working to create a pretext for a possible invasion of Ukraine,” the Pentagon spokesman added.
Earlier, White House press secretary Jen Psaki made a similar statement. In addition, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (GUR MO) came forward with accusations against Russia for allegedly preparing provocations on its territory.
On January 14, CNN published material according to which the United States has information that Russia has trained a special military group that will have to carry out a special operation in Donbas under a false flag. The interlocutor of the TV channel said that the Russian military was trained in urban combat and the use of explosives.
