The situation in the Bakhmut region of Donetsk region is very tense. The Russian invaders continue to attack the city and try to destroy the logistics of the Ukrainian defenders.

Now the occupiers have the initiative in this sector of the front. Military expert and reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladislav Seleznev told Channel 24 about this.

Occupiers attack Bakhmut from three sides

So, the Russians are continuously attacking the Ukrainian defenders from three sides , which are concentrated in the western microdistricts of the fortress city. At the same time, the future of keeping Bakhmut under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces directly depends on the logistics that unite the city with the mainland.

The situation there is complicated. Russia, realizing this fact, is trying to put pressure on the Ukrainian defenders who hold this logistical line and are doing everything possible not only to keep the route under fire control, but also to cut it, – said the colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to him, the situation in this sector of the front is very difficult. However, the General Staff is monitoring the situation in order to make effective decisions in the future.

• The Special Operations Forces, along with other military formations, continue to defend the fortress city of Bakhmut. The other day in the battles they managed to eliminate at least a company of the enemy. The soldiers also successfully destroyed an enemy drone “Orlan-10”.
• According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day in the Bakhmut direction, the enemy did not abandon attempts to storm the city of Bakhmut. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled numerous enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Orekhovo-Vasilovka, Bakhmut, Ivanovskoye and Grigorovka.
• British intelligence reported that now the pace of offensive operations of the occupiers is the lowest since January 2023. This is due to the fact that Russia is transferring all its forces to Bakhmut and is preparing to resume the offensive.
• Military expert Oleg Zhdanov noted that in other directions the enemy has reduced the number of attacks, because it does not have enough personnel. However, according to Zhdanov, offensive pressure from Russia will be resumed in the coming days.
• The Chief of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, commenting on the situation near Bakhmut, said that the Russian invaders had achieved tactical successes at a great cost. At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine has a reliable defense and pinned down Russian forces in Bakhmut.
