The Russians need some kind of victory, if this victory is unattainable on one front, they will try to win it on the other. Or they may try to do some kind of demonstrative provocation in order to create such a look and draw off the resources of our Armed Forces.

In general, I would say that there really are no regular Russian troops near Kyiv now, but we still have a fairly short distance to the border, and Kyiv is close to the border with Belarus, so this danger remains. It's just that the percentage of its probability is lower than it was at the beginning of the war,” Frolova explained.

The expert added that the capture of Kyiv is a utopian idea, especially now. We see and hear that approaches to the capital are now being strengthened, and this is absolutely right, because we understand that our enemy will not go anywhere.

After all, both Russia and Belarus will still be our neighbors. Therefore, the fortification of key cities is important. And therefore the second run for Russia will be even harder than the first, in terms of the readiness of the city and the defense around it.

We must understand that in order to capture such large cities as Kyiv, a sufficiently large number of military personnel is needed. And in order to encircle and capture, then you need a large number of their National Guard to control the city. Such a capture scenario looks unrealistic. But this does not mean that there will be no attempts to advance, although there is great doubt that they will be able to do so. But we see that Putin is prone to making strange decisions, and therefore it is impossible to exclude such a scenario, Alina Frolova summed up.
