Two injured Russians after the attack of a Turkish citizen armed with a knife are under the control of doctors. Their condition was disclosed by the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul on its Facebook page.
They were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. The third victim may soon be discharged from the hospital, his condition is not cause for concern.
According to the diplomatic mission in Istanbul, a Turkish citizen inflicted numerous knife wounds on Russian tourists as a result of a domestic conflict. The suspect in the attack was detained.
The diplomats appealed to law enforcement agencies with a request to provide detailed information about the incident. The Consulate General continues to closely monitor the situation and the state of health of the hospitalized, the message says.
The attack on Russian citizens took place on Sunday evening, January 24, in the urban district of Besiktas. As a result of the incident, two women and one man were injured, local residents came to their aid. Nothing threatens the lives of Russian citizens.
According to unofficial information, the attacker was 40-year-old garbage collector Hassan Hussein. The Turk had at least 30 convictions. He is also believed to be mentally unstable.
