The head of Hi-Tech Mail.ru Dmitry Ryabinin, in an interview with Sputnik radio, named the deadline for replacing the smartphone.
The expert noted that, on average, smartphone users change them about once every three years. The reason for this, he said, is the fact that the new gadgets are similar to each other, and they do not have new “chips” that could push the user to buy. “Buyers have stopped paying attention to features and design. Everything became the same for them. They use the old smartphone longer, it is more difficult to force them to buy a new one, ”Ryabinin explained.
He stressed that using a smartphone for longer than three years entails a decrease in battery life, since the battery degrades during this period. Battery capacity drops after about two years of using the gadget. This process is accelerated by fast charging.
Earlier, the general director of ANO Digital Platforms Arseny Shcheltsin named the sure signs that the SIM card needs to be replaced. These include the deterioration of the connection quality, the exhausted limit of contacts on the phone and the lack of 4G support. The expert advised to renew the SIM card once or twice a year and change it when buying a new phone.
