The United States informed Kiev about the content of the response to Moscow on security guarantees. This was announced by State Department spokesman Ned Price during a briefing with reporters. The broadcast is carried out on the department’s Twitter page.
According to Price, Washington took into account Kiev’s position regarding Russian proposals in the field of security. “We not only informed them… but also specifically requested their opinions and included it in the document. So there will be no surprises there,” he said.
At the same time, the representative of the State Department noted that the United States has not yet transmitted its response to Russia, but, according to Price, “it will not surprise Moscow.” “The answer has not yet been transmitted to Moscow. But as soon as it is sent, we will notify,” Price said.
It is expected that the American side will provide a written response this week in parallel with NATO.
Earlier, White House press Secretary Jen Psaki explained the US refusal to publish a written response to Russian proposals on security guarantees. According to her, documents of this kind are part of the negotiations and they are usually not made public.
