The US commented on the agreement between Moscow, Baku and Yerevan on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. This is reported by TASS with reference to a representative of the State Department.
It is noted that Washington will be glad to see the end of hostilities in the region. “We are not yet able to comment on specific details of the [current] ceasefire or next steps. Any questions about how the parties perceive the new agreements should be asked to them [themselves], ”the agency's interlocutor said.
Earlier, the heads of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed an agreement to end hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the agreements, Armenia and Azerbaijan must exchange prisoners of war and bodies of those killed, all transport hubs will be unblocked. In addition, the Kelbajar, Agdam, Lachin regions are returned to Azerbaijan until December 1. Armenia reserves the Lachin corridor. As part of the peacekeeping mission, the Russian side is bringing 1960 servicemen into Karabakh.
The hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh resumed on September 27. Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed three times to end military clashes, but each time the agreements were violated.
