The West allegedly lost to Russia: how propaganda uses US Senator Portman
Rob Portman/Voice of America
Russian media do not stop spreading fakes. This time they did it on behalf of US Senator Rob Portman.
How Russia is using Senator Rob Portman
Propaganda uses the Republican to promote the thesis that the West has lost to Russia in the information war. The dissemination of disinformation is intended to create a false impression. The Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported that this was a manipulation.
Thus, the JRC notes that the pro-Kremlin media distributed materials with the headings “US senator said that Russia is winning the information war.” It is obvious that the aggressor country completely distorted Portman's theses in their favor.
In fact, Portman said during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing that Russia was spending billions of dollars promoting an alternative agenda and trying to delegitimize the Ukrainian government. – the message says.
The senator also noted that the United States should help stop Russian disinformation.
The Center for Counteracting Disinformation emphasized that the use of certain theses of the US senator in order to form an erroneous impression of Russia's “victory” in the information manipulation.
At the same time, the department added that a full-scale attack on Ukraine neutralized the influence of Russian propaganda.
Playing cards with Russian propagandists released in Ukraine
InformNapalm investigators released two logs of cards . But not simple ones – the main characters on them are Russian war criminals and politicians, as well as propaganda representatives of the Kremlin.
The military leadership of Ukraine, including Valery Zaluzhny, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, helped the international intelligence community with the issuance of maps.
He said that exactly 20 years ago, similar maps were issued by the US Army Central Command. Then they placed the wanted war criminals. By playing them, the US military memorized their goals. So, in Ukraine they decided to continue this tradition.
We are convinced that Ukrainians know all war criminals well, however, why not use maps to fix them in their memory even more clearly!
