There is no such court that would consider the crimes of Russia – Levits/Office of the President
The President of Ukraine met with the heads of state of our allies in Ukraine. The heads of Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania arrived in Ukraine to discuss further steps in the fight against the Russian invaders.
At the meeting of the presidents, not only further cooperation was discussed, but also the recording of all crimes committed Russia against Ukraine. The aggressor must answer for all the horrors that he committed on our land.
The trial of Russia
Ukraine and Western partners record all the atrocities that have been committed Russians. According to Latvian President Egils Levits, Russia's crimes go beyond any legal framework.
We have seen with our own eyes the horrors committed by the Russians. War crimes have been committed. There must be responsibility for this. It is also necessary to make a special court, because now there is no such court in which Russia’s aggression could be considered,” Levits said.
He also added that the proceedings in international courts are already ongoing, so it will not be possible to escape from responsibility neither to Putin, nor to any of those who carried out his orders.
